Easy Entertainment
So you decided to have a few people over but you don’t know what to make or how the heck to stay within your budget. (and beans and hot dogs aren’t an option) Here are some uber easy ideas for quick and cheap entertainment.
1.) Raid you pantry: You’ll be surprised at all the things you’ll find in you cabinet that you didn’t even know you had. Work with what you have and think creatively so you won’t have to buy so much extra food.
2.) Appetizer: You may think that by adding this you’re adding to your cost, but that’s not always the case. Appetizers are a great way to fill up your guests with little cost to you. Cheese and crackers are always a crowd pleaser. Or, try quiche that you can get in bulk from somewhere like Sam’s Club or Cosco.
3.) Entrée/Meal: Who doesn’t love pasta? It tastes great, it’s inexpensive, it’s filling and you can use it in so many different ways. Have leftover meat? Throw it into the pasta or sauce. It didn’t cost you anything and it will taste even better. Add some garlic bread and your good to go.
4.) Dessert: Top of the evening with a $10 bottle of wine and a simple dessert. There are so many great options at the grocery store that you jazz up and make it look homemade. One idea is to buy (or make) large sugar cookies and top them off with whip cream and fresh berries.
The key is to have fun and be creative. Remember, your guests are there to see you, not just stuff their faces.
